Inclusive vs exclusive counting
"Days between" usually excludes one end. If a hotel stay runs 10 to 13 March, that is 3 nights. For leave or rental periods where both days count, add 1. Notice periods and loan tenures are often stated in calendar days, so check the exact rule in your contract.
